Damascus and Arabia: As described in the book of Acts (chapter 9), following his conversion Paul went to the synagogues in Damascus and proclaimed boldly that Jesus is the Son of God. We do not know how long he remained in Damascus. However, in Paul's letter to the Galatians he mentions that he left Damascus and spent an unspecified amount of time in Arabia (Gal 1:17). He then returned to Damascus where he spoke powerfully in the synagogiues and "baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Christ". (NIV) (Meaning that Jesus is the Messiah of Israel).
