By Ray Comfort / Whitaker House Publishers

Discover the crucial key needed to unlock the unbeliever's heart. If you are experiencing evangelical frustration over lost souls, unrepentant sinners, and backslidden "believers," then look no further. This radical approach could be the missing dimension needed to win our generation to Christ.

MARRIAGE & DIVORCE

"but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the reason of unchastity, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery." Matthew 5:32 (NASB)

I'm willing to stand by my wedding vows, but my spouse is not.

The answer is never automatically divorce.

Some might say it depends on what you mean when you say your spouse is not "standing by our wedding vows." We all have different ways of understanding what we thought were the intended promises. But the bottom line is that there is only one acceptable reason for Christians getting a divorce -- unchastity. Having a physical, sexual relationship with someone other than your spouse. In current terminology: cheating.

If your spouse cheats on you, does that mean divorce? Not necessarily. It was very difficult, and the consequences in a loss of trust still linger after 14 years, but my marriage survived my unchastity.

And always remember, although in the case of unchastity divorce is an option, remarriage is never an option. Marriage always remains ONE man and ONE woman, forever. The person who is not respecting their wedding vows should keep this in mind--based on the Bible, divorce and remarriage marriage is not an option.
