Good? > God weights goood vs bad
How
good do you have to be to get into heaven?
No one knows.
God weighs our good deeds vs. our bad deeds and judges us based
on whether our good deeds outweight our bad deeds.
The Bible does not say this.
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that our salvation will be judged
based on how much good we have done vs. how much evil we have done.
We will be judged solely on whether or not Jesus knows us.
This is what happens on the final judgement day:
"And anyone whose name was not found
recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire."
- Revelation 20:15 (NLT)
What about those doing the Lord's work. Won't they get into heaven
because of everything they are doing for God? Here's what Jesus
said:
"On judgement day many will tell me,
'Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your
name and performed many miracles in your name.' But I will reply,
'I never knew you. Go away; the things you did were unauthorized."
- Matthew 7:22-23
Your salvation does not depend on what you've done in this life
or how good you've been. It depends on knowing Jesus. And "knowing
Jesus" means knowing Him as your Lord and Savior. Accepting
Jesus for who He is - the Son of God who
died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins.
Judgement of Our Works: Yes, what you have done with your
life will be judged. If you have trusted in Jesus for your salvation,
the judgement of what you have done will determine your reward in
heaven. All who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior
will have eternal life in heaven, but we each will have different
heavenly rewards based on what we have done while on earth.
