Afraid of Christianity > Only way to salvation
Christians think they
have the only way to salvation.
If God came
to earth and told you there was one, and only one way to get to
heaven (to salvation), then He told you what it was, wouldn't you
believe Him?
That's what
God has done.
Jesus is
God. And He has told us, in plain clear words, how we can have
eternal life in heaven.
Jesus is speaking
to Nicodemus: "For God so loved
the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes
in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
- (NASB) John: 3:16
Speaking to
some Jews on a different occasion, Jesus said: "..he
who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me [God the Father],
has eternal life... " (NASB) John 5:24
On another occasion
Jesus was in Nazareth talking to people who knew his family: "...he
who believes has eternal life." (NASB) John 6:47
These
are just three examples. God has told us that it is through belief
in Jesus that we have eternal life.
But, is Jesus
the only way?
"And
there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under
heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
(NASB) Acts 4:12
Yes, Jesus is
the only way to salvation, and He proved it with His own resurrection.
Did Mohammed
or Buddha return to earth after their deaths? No. Jesus did. Jesus
demonstrated His power over death in a physical, real way. He did
not come back as a ghost. After His resurrection people could talk
with Him and physically
touch and feel Him. Jesus physically demonstrated -- in a way
that could not be refuted -- that the way to heaven and eternal
life is through Him.
