> God's Will
What does God want us to do?
God wants you to recognize that you are a sinner. Only God is perfect.
He wants you to accept His love and forgiveness. And He wants you
to help those who are weaker than you and to spread His word.
1. Jesus died so that our sins could be forgiven: Admit
that you are a sinner. We all (including me and you) fall short
of what we could and should be. Ask Jesus for forgiveness and accept
Jesus as your savior. Jesus died for your sins. He is the sacrifice
that wipes your slate clean. He died so that you may be forgiven.
So that you will be right before God. You only need to accept that
forgiveness.
"For God so loved the world that
He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall
not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
2. Don't keep it a secret: Don't keep the good news about
#1 above a secret. God wants us to spread His word. He loves us
all -- everyone in the world -- and wants everybody to have the
opportunity to have their sins forgiven so that they may also have
eternal life.
"Go and make disciples (tell
them about #1 above) of all nations (of everyone in the world),
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
- Matthew 28:20
Christianity is not based on force. The above does not mean that
we should go out and force people to become Christians. Accepting
Jesus as your savior is not something that can be forced on anyone.
It must come from the heart. We can only bring the message, it is
up to each person to decide on their own -- through the grace of
God -- to accept Jesus.
How do we spread of the word of God? Do we all need to become missionaries
and travel to far-off places? No. Some people are called to be missionaries
in far-off places. Most people are called to do no more than live
their lives as a Bible-based Christian so that others, through their
example, see how true Christians live. Ask God, He'll tell you what
to do.
3. Love God and love your neighbor: When Jesus was asked
what the greatest commandment was, he answered:
"And you must love the Lord God with
all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your strength.
The second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
No other commandment is greater than these."- Mark 12:30-31
(NLT)
That's it! Christianity is not complicated.
Christianity accepts everyone who has accepted Jesus. It's the ultimate
in tolerance and diversity. People of all cultures, all races, all
nationalities are welcome. And Christianity does not persecute those
who reject Christianity -- we love them and pray for them.
We invite you to pray now:
Lord Jesus in heaven, I recognize that I am a sinner. I need
You in my life. Thank you for dying on the cross for me. Forgive
me. I accept you as my savior and Lord. Guide me, lead me, inspire
me to be the person you want me to be. Show me how to follow in
Your steps. Through Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
